Welcome MVA Alumni and Friends!
Greetings from your Mountain View Academy Alumni president! I want to take this opprotunity to thank Rita Hoshino fro being the Development and Alumni director for the past years! It is an overwhelming responsibility - I'm finding out- and I appreicate everything she did for the Alumni, Development & MVA.. (As you may or may not know, her posistion has remained vacant snice she left at the end of the last school year 2009.
It was great to see many of you this past Aprill at MVA's Alumni Homecoming. Save the date/weekend on your calendar for this school year's homecoming. It is always the sceond weekend of April, which in 2010 means: April 9-11. We will be honoring years that end in 5's and 10's. I look forward to catching up with you this coming year at Alumni weekend.
Just as this year has gone by so fast, it seems that the school year at MVA has been the same way. We have 141 students enrolled. It has been a flurry of school activities similar to the ones we remember: quizzes, tests, homework, choir, band and drama performances, leadership and prayerr conferences, flag football, volleyball and basketball.
In addition, the school is raising it's profile in the community: We participate in the Mayor's school leadership recognition, and MVA'a active involvement with the city's Christmas tree lighting. the list and memories go on......
One the most significant projects is our opportunity to purchase the remaining property on the California Street side, which will allows us to own the entire block and finally expand our sports field.
We want to keep in touch with you so please keep us updated with your e-mail and contact information. E-mail your updated information to: alumni@mtnviewacademy.org.
You can also send it by mail to: MVA 360 S. Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View, CA 94041
Warmest Regards,
Lori (Hashimoto/Smeenge) Smith
