There's lots to choose from at Mountain View Academy!  Be involved by supporting and enjoying the event or volunteer to help the success of the event.  Either way you are appreciated!  Check out the calendar for a more comprehensive list of events, but here are a few that you should consider:

  • Phonathon:For two weeks in September we call alumni and friends of MVA to help us raise money for the needs of our students and school. . .see the Make a Donation, Make a Difference tab.

  • The Annual MVA Golf Classic:   This is a best ball 4-man scramble tournament with great fellowship, and topped off with great prizes, and awards.  We hold a Fall Annual Tournament in Sep/Oct and one Spring Annual Tournament during Alumni weekend in April.  Golfers come from all over and their participation helps the Worthy Student Scholarships.  Our Fall tournament is held at Silver Creek Valley Country Club, a beautiful private golf course in the Silicon Valley.  The Spring tournament is held at select courses the Bay Area.  Last year we were at Cinnabar Hills and for 2007 we're planning on Harding Park.Celebration in Sound:  Not enough music in your life? Want to see how good the Royal Aires and Royal Blues have gotten since you were a member? Join us for a dinner and music evening at the end of October every year.  The proceeds benefit our music department.

  • Christmas Cantata:  It’s not really Christmas until you’ve heard MVA’s choir, Royal Aires, and Royal Blues bring in the season with their voices and instruments.  Please check the school calendar and your church bulletins.

  • Open House:All potential students and their parents are invited to visit MVA in the middle of October every year.  There will be appetizers, drinks, music from our Royal Aires, and of course teachers will be standing by as you get answers to your questions on each of the classes.  So come check out a top Academic program that received accolades from the WASC Chairman.  (The highest Accreditation organization for schools and colleges)

  • Annual Mission Trip:  This is an opportunity of a lifetime, and life changing for our students and for the people involved in the project.  Many of our students need financial support and prayers.  In the past we have gone to many places including Africa, Chile, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.  Please support our students when they come asking for help by sending a check to the school with their name.  Our Chaplain Moises Guerrero is doing a superb job in planning this for our students.

  • Homecoming: Alumni and Friends are invited to join us annually for the Alumni Sabbath reunion. Homecoming is ALWAYS the 2nd Weekend in April.  Is it your 10, 25, or 50 year reunion? Maybe your class is celebrating another year? Come one, come all and help us celebrate even if you just want to see who else is there. Call your friendly Alumni Director at 1-800-441-0682 x23 to plan your reunion or for  information.  We will be having a Friday evening vespers, Sabbath School by the 10 year class, and Church Service by the 25th year class.  Plean on a music program in the evening prior to the Alumni basketball game.  A golf tournament and Tennis Tournament if there is enough interest. Keep checking the site and stay in touch!

  • Experiential School: This is three days of outdoor/hands-on education. Would you like to sponsor a trip to a local museum, take students out in your boat to learn sailing techniques, or would you like to teach some students the art of making a family recipe? Maybe you have another idea! Coming in April every year.Car Wash/MVA Flea Market:Would you like to know when the next car wash is taking place? Students and parents will be helping raise money for our van replacements. Call Rita Hoshino at 650-967-2324 x23 for the next monthly fundraiser.
