Mission, Purpose and Philosophy

Mission:
Mountain View Academy is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian high school serving Bay Area communities. The mission of Mountain View Academy is to provide a quality education to a culturally diverse student body in a contemporary Christian environment.

Purpose:
Our purpose is to educate the whole person by nurturing the development of the student's spiritual, intellectual, social and physical potential. The conviction that God, our Creator, Redeemer, and Friend, is the Source for all knowlege and wisdom, comprises the educational philosophy at Mountain View Academy.

Philosophy:
Mountain View Academy's primary purpose is to educate the whole person by developing the student's spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical potential. To achieve our mission, we use Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLR's) that encourage each student to:
  • Improve spiritually by developing a personal relationship with God and his fellow men

  • Improve intellectually by mastering academic skills

  • Improve physically through exercise, recreation, and proper diet

  • Improve socially by respecting self, others, and the environment, through moral purity, participation in school sponsored activities and involvement in Community/Mission service.
